Stamp Design
The Project
For a graphic design class.
We were assigned to design a postage stamp and poster to celebrate the Faculty of Media and Information Studies (FIMS) 25th anniversary.
This proved to be quite the challenge as it is almost impossible to narrow down exactly what FIMS is in a simple image.
The focus on the hands is to represent craft and creativity and additionally the endless gestures a hand can make added to the theme of playfulness and exploration.
The globe has a more direct meaning: international outreach, globalization, and diversity. The globe can also mean exploration of a wide landscape, with various opportunities and experiences—as FIMS would be described by most students.
FIMS opens the doors to many paths that intertwine or divert, but are all one’s own to take.
